Why this blog

A few years ago I was searching for a good and informative online resource on political films, but sadly I couldn’t find one that would satisfy me. That’s why I started to compile a list of political films on my own, and soon decided to create this blog.

What all movies reviewed here have in common is that they are political, one can think about them politically and draw political conclusions, and I think they are worth watching. I tried to avoid politically confusing films in which historical events are (accidentally or intentionally) misrepresented or which are misleading and contradictory.

I plan to write much more, about numerous movies and documentaries, and would love to devote more of my time and energy to work on this site. In the future I would like to go a step further from film reviews – I’d like to do interviews with filmmakers and other film professionals. I’d like to write longer articles about how certain topics are treated in the movies, or texts about several films that together represent well some phenomenon or historical period etc.

I am completely open to your proposals, comments, suggestions – you can reach me at tadej@riseup.net – and if you feel that PolitFilm is a worthy project deserving attention, you can also contribute by donating via Patreon or spreading the word.

PS. I’d like to thank everyone who helped me, supported me and recognized the importance of my work. Of course, many people helped me, and these are just some of them: Rastko Novaković, Aleksa Nešić, Šeheres Dada, Branislav Dragičević, Olga Dimitrijević, Nebojša Milikić, Nenad Glišić, Milica Tomić, Angelina Radovanović, Tamara Glišić, Vladan Vukliš, Stevan Vuković, Marko Torlaković, Tamara Krstanović, Mika Mala, Milena Janošević…
