Salvador Puig was a Spanish anarchist, member of the group MIL, which robbed banks and financed illegal political press, books and other materials, supported workers’ struggles and the fight against authoritarian regime of Francisco Franco. During the arrest, he killed a member of the Spanish gendarmerie (Guardia civil). He was tried by military tribunal and sentenced to death in an atmosphere of political revenge after ETA killed the Spanish Prime Minister Carrero Blanco. Salvador Puig, executed at the age of 26, was the last person executed by garrote in Spain. Based on actual events.
