From the beginning of the movie, the viewer is nailed to the chair by pervasive tension of unseen origin and painful premonition of betrayal, unthinkable but anticipated. The movie is partly based on actual events of 1960s, involving Kim Philby, a member of the spy ring now known as the Cambridge Five.
